The PRSim team is celebrating after its latest wave of employees were awarded their ARLA Level 3 qualifications, pushing the total of qualified employees up to an impressive 65%.
The Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA) is the professional and regulatory body for letting agents within the UK. Over 3500 letting agents in the UK are now members of the scheme, which was established in 1981 to protect the general public against bad practices, fraud and misrepresentation by lettings companies and to promote high standards of ethical practice by its members. Members are bound to strict codes of professional conduct that are classified as the minimum service standards expected in the industry.
One of the conditions of membership is that at least one person within every lettings branch or office should hold the ARLA Level 3 qualification (A level equivalent) which comprises of four separate units and exams, and takes approximately a year to complete.
This achievement is therefore no mean feat and is a great example of PRSim’s commitment to delivering excellent customer service. In addition, it provides peace of mind to clients that they are dealing with recognised professionals that possess the most up-to-date knowledge of the marketplace.
Sadly it’s not currently a legal requirement to be an member if operating in England; however it is when managing properties in Wales and Scotland. Despite ongoing talks at Government level to make ARLA membership a legal requirement in England only around 30% of lettings companies have followed this through.
This sizable task was led by PRSim’s Conduct and Training Manager, Jess Everett, a registered and qualified ARLA member for the last 7 years. Jess is responsible for shaping PRSim’s internal development program and has successfully mentored 37 members of staff to achieve their ARLA qualification over the past 4 years alone, with a further 6 currently undergoing training, of which, 3 are studying Level 6 ARLA in Scottish legislation.
PRSim and the wider LSL Group are passionate about delivering the best customer service possible and will continue to devote time and energy to expanding their ARLA membership.
